Contemporary artist and ruinpub decorator Bertalan Babos Zsili and his team of other young contemporary artists have conquered Ráday street too after doing Szatyor, Csak Art Bar, and Csendes. With an excellent sense of purpose, they created a culture pub from the place next to Costes, the only restaurant with a Michelin star in Budapest.
The pub interior doubling as a cultural space is the development of the last few years on the ruinpub scene, but Púder (Powder) Bar Theatre takes its mission seriously. Their literary series called Prose Closure (organized together with the Association of Young Writers) included quiet, sit-down events, and the walls always display paintings on temporary exhibition. From time to time, Fúzió Rádió residents occupy the DJ booth, and the members of Lakmusz Group bring theatrical performances.
The design of Púder Bar Theatre might be familiar from the places listed above: we are not lacking in surreal collages and statues, and of course there are the inevitable run-down, colorful chairs and tables.
Púder awaits the summer season with windows open wide and a terrace on the street; the menu can be checked online, on their webpage. And you can also look around the place right from your home, your favourite armchair: just open one of the full panoramic pictures and spin away!
